The Alaska Rainforest Defenders have submitted scoping comments for the proposed USDA Forest Service Alaska Roadless Rulemaking process. We urged the USFS to select the No-Action alternative, and to immediately terminate the rulemaking process.
It is appalling that there is no official record of what was said at those meetings, by the intent of the state and the Forest Service.
The decision was already made before the “Roadless Rule Process” even started. The onslaught against our nations public lands and the environment had reached my town and there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.
Alaska Rainforest Defenders urges individuals to submit written scoping comments and attend Open Houses being held this week for the proposed Central Tongass Project (CTP) and ask—above all—that the timber component of the project be eliminated.
